Who we are
Brief History of the Organization
Established in 2008, Las Perlas Del Mar Productions Inc. is a not-for-profit organization who delivers a series of visual and media production educational workshops, we work with professional artists to development programs, producing events, providing internship and volunteer experiences, and serving as an advocate for the Latino American visual and media arts community.
Las Perlas del Mar was officially launched on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2008, by visual artist, activist, and filmmaker, Alex Flores. Alex’s vision was to create an alternative multi-media School and focus on providing a broad variety of Visual and media Art workshops and create a community partnerships to work with a wide range of the latin American community.
We want to empower our diverse community through art skills all year around.
Our programs aim to cultivate visual and media artistic and professional development for our Latin American community. Building careers, fostering community connections and fuelling their creativity
We want to support local infrastructure and providing powerful learning experiences.
Since 2011 80 students had come to las perlas del mar productions school, learning visual and multi-media art workshops.

Las Perlas TV is our Magazine online video platform where our students get the opportunity to produced and to put in practice their new knowledge and skills, creating to deliver an original ideas to show to our community.
Through Las Perlas TV Programs and under the Artistic directions, students are part of the creation of professional Spanish & English multi-media productions focusing on local and cultural news, editorials, stories and commentaries, as well as presenting different perspectives reflecting the heart of the Latin American and Canadian communities in Toronto Canada to the world.
Also Las Perlas TV is providing internships and volunteer experiences, and serving as an advocate for our latin American arts community.
COMMUNITY:
We believe that art empowers our community in the educational, social, and economic way.
We collaborative and constructive dialogue between other groups and individuals who are part of our community.
And last but no least, Las perlas del mar Productions create an environment of,. non-judgmental, and access for everyone regardless of gender identity, race, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, economic situation and we respect and dignity all our relations.

Thanks to our volunteers, LPDMP/LPTV Has Been part of the productions of: Cirque du Soleil, University of Toronto Student Federation Event: Angela Davis, Several Roy Thompson Hall, Gay Pride Week Toronto 2009-2014, several Amnesty International events, The Mayans at ROM, LPDM, is teaching many volunteers how to produce the programs in order to extend and pass on the knowledge that the organization has gained in the past.
